The "Internet of Things" (IoT) is the vision that every object can become part of the internet. It refers to the networking of objects and items via the internet. This enables applications in the areas of smart homes, smart logistics, production (Industry 4.0) and others.

This module provides a practical introduction to the topic of IoT with a focus on technologies and solution approaches. One focus of this module is the implementation of initial, simple IoT applications (from thing to data analysis).

In addition to an overview of the topic of IoT and the relevant technologies, in the 2nd phase we will dive into the implementation of approaches:

  •     What platforms are there?
  •     How do you connect and manage things in the cloud?
  •     What do you do with all the data?
  •     How and where is this data best processed?

The module provides basic knowledge in the IoT area without going too deeply into the individual technologies.
